Malia Obama is working as a screenwriter on Donald Glover’s upcoming series


Malia Obama is making her mark in Hollywood. The former First Daughter’s role as a writer on an upcoming Donald Glover project has been confirmed, and Donald had nothing but nice things to say about her work.

Almost a year ago, reports surfaced of Malia’s possible role as a writer in Donald’s new TV series. At the time, there was no official confirmation of his involvement. However, in a new interview, the Atlanta the creator has confirmed that Malia is part of the writers room, and he Recount vanity lounge that she is “really focused and very hard working”.

Donald called Malia “incredibly talented” and added, “I feel like she’s just someone who’s going to have some really good stuff soon. Her writing style is awesome.”

Donald is also working with his brother Steven on the show and he said Malia had “a lot of great ideas”. Steven then joked about Malia’s former presidential relationship saying, “We can’t be easy on her just because she’s the [former] the president’s daughter. No, she’s very down-to-earth and cool. So it’s not a problem at all.

As vanity lounge notes, Malia is a writer on Donald’s Amazon series which would have been titled Hive. According to a previous report by Hollywood journalist, the show centers around a character quite similar to Beyoncé. Before joining the Hive the team, Malia was an intern on the set of Girls and served as a production assistant.

There’s no word on when Hive might premiere, but there’s still plenty of old family debut content to catch up on. In 2018, it was announced that the former president and first lady had signed a deal with Netflix to create scripted and unscripted content for the streaming platform. The resulting contract gave viewers the opportunity to watch To becomea documentary that followed Michelle Obama on her memoir book tour, as well as the film Paternity and the animated series Ada Twist, scientist.
