“It was my chance to take the things I didn’t like about the show and replace them with things I liked better,” said Leo. “For example, one of the things I didn’t like about Sal Fink’s original show, even though it was a really cool visual thing, was when she got into a fight with the bear, she turned the bear over. It was very cool visual effect, but I always felt sorry for the bear. “

Leo said she found inspiration for the new bear scene while reading stories about Davy Crockett’s legendary wife Sally Ann Thunder Ann Whirlwind Crockett.

“There was this story about her taming a bear and teaching it to dance and bringing it home and making it live with her,” Leo said. “So I decided to take this story and make it a Sal Fink story instead of a Sally Ann Thunder Ann Crockett story.”

Leo said the performances changed often and they always added new shows. She said 2020 was actually a very productive year for creating shows.

“From spring 2020 to spring 2021, you know the containment, we have developed four new shows,” said Leo. “In the beginning when everything stopped and all of our shows were canceled, my current puppet partner and I was thinking, you know what, we can’t do any of these shows, so we might as well create new shows. . “

Eulenspiegel then took his creativity to another level and, thanks to an idea from another puppet company in Phoenix, created a drive-in show. This included inviting people to come and enjoy a puppet show, with large puppets, from the safety of their vehicles.
