Ventriloquist takes next step with COVID mask

BOCA RATON, FL — Ventriloquist Reggie Glowman and his dummy sidekick Goofy have struggled to book shows for 20 years. Glowman would have described himself as an average ventriloquist, but recently his talents have skyrocketed. As venues begin to reopen but require masks, the 46-year-old entertainer found he could sing and say any letter or word he wanted without the audience seeing his lips move.

“I can make Goofy say, ‘Peter Piper picked a pickled pepper spike,’ as clearly as I want, and nobody sees anything,” Glowman said. “Goofy’s vocabulary exploded!”

The crowds were wowed by the new and improved show “Reggie & Goofy”.

“I’ve been seeing acts of ventriloquist for over 50 years,” said audience member Tom Lapp. “I watched the mouth closely and didn’t see Reggie’s lips move once during the whole show. ‘Awesome’ is too small a word.”

The reviews and growing buzz surrounding the performance earned the pair of comedians a national tour.

“It’s absolutely amazing,” Glowman said. “This virus is the best thing to happen to my career. I’m one of the few people hoping for a second outbreak.”

Glowman is also considering giving Goofy a mask, which should make things even easier.
