There are tickets left for two of the authors appearing at Point Loma Nazarene University from Tuesday for the 27th edition Writers’ Symposium by the Sea.

Pastor Nadia Bolz-Weber, founder of the House for All Sinners & Saints in Denver, opens the event at 7 p.m. Tuesday. His books include Accidental Saints and Shameless.

New York Times columnist and TV commentator David Brooks follows at 7 p.m. Wednesday. He will talk about one of his recent books, The second mountain.

Friday’s event with prominent academic Cornel West is sold out.

General admission is $15, with $5 tickets reserved for students and an additional charge for those who want books with their tickets. Warwick’s in La Jolla partners with PLNU to supply the books.

Additionally, the second Driftwood Film Festival will take place on Thursday as part of the symposium. The festival, hosted by the festival organizers in partnership with two PLNU departments, features student short films.
